9   General Assembly convenes (noon); Joint Assembly; Last day to file with the clerk: charter, claims, local fiscal and correctional impact, sales tax exemption, and VRS bills and legislation creating or continuing a study

11   All requests for drafts, redrafts, and corrections to Legislative Services by 5:00 p.m.

15   Special and continuing joint order following morning hour to hold elections for seats or offices held by incumbent judges, the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission, and gubernatorial and circuit court appointees

18   All bills and joint resolutions filed with clerk by 5:00 p.m.

26   General Assembly convenes in the reconstructed Capitol in Williamsburg

February

8   Last day to confirm gubernatorial appointments made during the recess

12   Committees responsible for appropriation, debt, revenue, and VRS bills to complete work by midnight; Each house to complete work on its own legislation, except above bills and the Budget Bill(s)

13   Each house may consider only legislation and amendments of the other house, except the Budget Bill(s) and appropriation, debt, revenue, and VRS bills

15   House of introduction to complete work on appropriation, debt, revenue, and VRS bills

17   Committees responsible for the Budget Bills(s) to complete work by midnight

19   Amendments to the Budget Bill(s) available by noon

4   First conference on the Budget Bill(s) to complete work by midnight

5   Special and continuing joint order following the morning hour to fill certain judicial and elective officers' vacancies and new judgeships

6   Budget Bill(s) conference report available by noon; Last day to put bills in conference

7   Only conference reports and certain joint resolutions may be considered

Reconvened Session will be held April 16, 2008. Prefiling for the 2009 Regular Session begins July 21, 2008. Last day to act on continued legislation is December 4, 2008.
